Halloween Eve in Rouen

Finally had the chance to go out to Rouen to visit Rachel this week, and it was well worth the train ride (though I've officially decided train is my favorite way to travel, and would take advantage of almost any chance to take a train ride).  She's studying out there for the semester, and has found all the best places, one of which is the crêpe place where we had lunch with her friend Anastasia.  Even if you don't like trains, that alone is worth the ride.

At least someone's getting in the Halloween spirit.  We skipped the pumpkin carving (too heavy to carry back from the Carrefour), but watched the Orphan.  Let me tell you: it doesn't end when you think it does.
Galettes and café crêmes.  The best of the best.  Also, if you want asparagus on your galette: the word is "asperges" not "asperagus" pronounced with a french accent.  They will not know what you're talking about..

Thank you thank you for a wonderful visit!!
Has to be one of the prettiest train stations.

  2. We were there with son Jack in 1985...yikes! (can't believe it has been 28 years) He was studying in Angers for the year with the Notre Dame program. Gorgeous pictures, Natalie. Looks like you are having a wonderful time in France. Love, Mary Gerry and Tom
