VERSAILLES

Today Alison, Clara, and I took a day trip to the former home of the Sun King, and later Marie-Antoinette (as well as a whole bunch of other people).  We got lucky with lines and weather, though we did, at one point, get on the wrong tiny train going through the garden, and ended up at the exit instead of Marie-Antoinette's farm.  So that will have to be my first stop next time.  Also, helpful hint: there are BIKES in the park!!  That would definitely be the way to see it.
Sometimes inbreeding took its toll, and people ended up looking like this..
Louis had pretty luscious hair

Hall of Mirrors!

One more for good luck
Marie-Antoinette
Marie-Antoinette's bedroom (fun fact: 19 children were born in this room)
The ceiling of the Napoleon room
all painted by Jacques-Louis David (Napoleon's official painter, who spent his life making Napoleon taller and more handsome than in real life)
Eerily similar..
The fountains were synchronized with chamber music, which played throughout the gardens.
Sadly I was too big for the pony rides.
